The BEST Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies





I made these today and they were just amazing!! just the right balance of peanut butter + chocolate chips. I used 1C flour + a couple of tablespoons, which I might reduce further. I might have overbaked them because they weren’t chewy as prescribed. But I will definitely make them again! My friends said they taste like a popular Filipino candy called chocnut (it’s literally a choco-nutty crumbly bar) and they loved it. I love that they produce a huge batch or huge cookies.

We Held A Chocolate Chip Cookie Taste-A-Thon

It’s a hard life, but we did it to bring you the ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipes. As part of the process of creating the best chocolate chip cookies ever, I baked 10 famous existing cookie recipes and held a blind taste test for 40 of my co-workers. The 10 recipes came from all over the cookie spectrum. There was the New York Times’ top pick, the Nestlé Toll House version that we all grew up with, and favorites from Bon Appétit and bloggers like Tara O’Brady of Seven Spoons. I wanted to include something for everyone, because even though I’ve spent many years as a professional recipe creator, I know that not everyone is necessarily looking for the same kind of cookie. For this test, I asked my co-workers to taste all 10, then pick their absolute favorite. To keep things as even as possible, I created a few simple parameters when it came to the actual baking. Italian Sponge Cake (Pan di Spagna)

I’ve been looking for the perfect simple Italian sponge cake for a tiramisu and this one works very well. For some reason I have a lot of trouble with separating eggs so ladyfingers are not practical for me. Anyway, thought you’d like to know that this is the best one I’ve tried so far. I put a little extra vanilla in but that’s just personal taste. I’m thinking about bringing a tiramisu to Thanksgiving this year so this will definitely be what I use. Oh, and just a little pro-tip for anyone reading this. If you make strawberry shortcake don’t use angel food. Use sponge cake. And use this sponge cake specifically.
